When former Louisiana congressman & governor Buddy Roemer threw his hat into the circle for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, a number of observers such as C-SPAN's Steve Scully, thought that he had real potential especially given the fact that he was running on a platform of campaign finance reform.  However, it has not worked out that way as Roemer's campaign has done so poorly that he was not even included in any of the GOP presidential debates.  Read the following email and ask yourself if a really serious presidential campaign would do something like this:

Buddy Roemer for PresidentTeam,

College basketball enthusiasts all over America are engulfed in the frenzy of March Madness, and the Roemer for President campaign is no different. In between spreading my message of ending politics as usual, ending the corruptive influence of money in politics, and ending unfair trade, I will be keeping an eye on my championship bracket.

Please join me in our March Madness Bracket Challenge. Be sure to fill out your bracketand make your best picks before the first tip-off on Thursday, March 15. We will announce the winner after the National Championship game on April 2, which just happens to be in my home state of Louisiana. The winner and their guest will have lunch with me during a campaign stop this spring. If this requires me flying to you, or you flying to me, we will make it happen.

Filling out your online bracket might not affect who wins the tournament, but there is one online form you can fill out that will make a difference in another competition. Be sure to give your vote and support me in the first ever, nationwide online primary on Americans Elect.

With my recent announcement to run for the presidency as an Independent candidate, we are putting "Country Before Party." Together we can unite and make America a better place. I cannot do this alone - I need your help. Please sign up to join the campaignhere.

Good luck with your picks! I can't wait to see the best brackets.
