I haven't PC gamed much in years... About 4 or so, since I got back full into console gaming. Well, with StarCraft II coming out in less than a week, I figured I may want to build a new gaming rig to play PC games again. I'll be writing up a behemoth blog post on this a bit later.

But I'm curious, anybody else undergoing new rig builds or upgrades for the game?

My APB Restraint rant more or less reassembled my experience, but I am greatly considering upgrading to a 64-bit Windows for the future of games, now that I found out that my processor is actually already 64-bit compatible.  I want to make the most out of my RAM, maybe APB will look better and no longer crash, as well as Poser, a 3d modeling program I occasionally mess around with.

I thought SC2 was going to have low requirements anyway.  Seems to be Blizzards thing for their games, which I appreciate.

Well, my old rig didn't even hit the minimum for SC2. It was built 6 years ago and last upgraded 4 years ago. I needed something substantial. That, and the next three years are going to be financially lean for Laura and me, so I also needed something that'll last 3 and not show its age too much...

Well, the new rig is about 95% done. I'm waiting on writing up a blog post on it until I get the remaining parts in. On a positive note, though, SC2 ought to be waiting for me when I get home today, haha.
