Portal 2: Valve have done it again

No prizes for guessing what has happened...

Valve has recently announced a delay in the development of Portal 2, the sequel to one of 2007's greatest games. The release dates have now been pushed to April 22, 2011 for the European Market, and April 20, 2011 for America.

Valve has been plagued with delays throughout its development history, and this time around, it proudly announced the Portal 2 delay "is the shortest yet," at just 6 months in total (so far). The recent delay has added another 2 months on top of the planned release date.

Valve has a bad track record when it comes to release dates. Of course, I already know what the reaction will be like, but what do you think about this (inevitable) delay?

I would also like to state I am aware of the error in the first line of this post. 2009 should read 2007. Portal is indeed old, and very much deserves a sequel around about now.
Oopsies. My apologies for this. The error will be rectified soon...ish.

As far as I have heard, it will indeed be longer, and more of a single-title game. I can tell there will be another "Orange Box"-type boxset deal coming, when HL2:EP3 does indeed shed it's mysterious cloak-and-dagger existence...

Oh how I really want to invade (or, skulk around, or poke around, or simply be in) Valve's development offices right now...

If Portal 2 doesn't come out in a package like The Orange Box did, it had better be longer, and still maybe no more than $30.00. It isn't exactly a mainstream genre to keep your interest more than beyond finishing it once.

Personally, I'm still waiting for HL2 episode 3. How dare they leave us hanging this long in the sudden twist ending in ep2. (Compared to ep1)
