Site previously had material criticizing Modern Warfare 3, now redirects to Battlefield 3 official site

The next installment in the Call of Duty franchise came under fire this week before its November release in the form of a trolling website called ModernWarfare3.com.

Call of Duty

This seemingly legitimate website masqueraded as an official website for Modern Warfare 3, except instead of information about the game, scathing criticism and negative descriptions were in its place.

One description on the website reads:

"Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Check out the E3 2011 gameplay demo featuring the Black Tuesday level for a look at the epic fail of the campaign. Pre-Order Call of Duty MW3 Today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to secure exclusive bonuses only available online for Modern Warfare 3 fanboys who don't know that Battlefield 3 is the better game."

A disclaimer on the bottom of the website says:

The website ModernWarfare3.com is not associated, affiliated, endorsed or sponsored by the creators or publishers of the game (we like them a lot though.) Call of Duty and Modern Warfare are registered trademarks of Activision Publishing, Inc. All images are the property of their respective owners are creators.

Recently, the website and its content has been removed, instead linking the page to EA's upcoming Battlefield 3 website.

The current official website for the next in the Call of Duty franchise is CallofDuty.com/MW3.

So far neither EA nor Activision has commented on the website nor has Activision announced any legal action.

I think its quite funny the lengths some trolls will go to and I even admire it in a way but I know its just petty and pointless.

Has anyone ever heard of just not playing a game if you don't like it?...... -_-
