It's coming, finally...

According to a recent interview with Famitsu magazine, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed some details about the long-rumored-but-never-officially-announced Kingdom Hearts III.

Kingdom Hearts

According to Nomura, KHIII will be the last game in the series to feature Xehanort, the main villain in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. There are also plans for future sequels to feature main protagonist Sora but with all-new plot and characters.

Nomura also said that eager fans wanting to know more about the sequel will get some answers in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. Nomura also stated that KH3D will be the last in the series of spin-offs before Kingdom Hearts III. Nomura did not reveal a release date for the game, nor a specific console.

Finally, Nomura stated that Square Enix is currently looking into possible technology to render past Square Enix titles in HD. No more comments were made regarding which titles are being looked at, but given their history, the Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy titles seem like good candidates.

I love how they try to sell people on the new characters and stuff when we all know they should just put in more Disney and Final Fantasy characters, and stuff reusing the same locales in every game. That's why the game sold in the first place, and that's why nobody pays attention to all the various coded and re coded and chains of code games. The obvious is hard to grasp sometimes, I guess.

I'd be shocked if it's not on PS3. About time this happens.
